Leader in heirs tracing
in Quebec

Mission and Values

Year after year, Étude Généalogique Savary continues to consolidate its reputation as the leading Québec heirs tracing firm. We are proud to maintain high standards in carrying out our mission and supporting numerous actors in the field of estate settlement. We are guided by the following key values.

Rigour

We employ the greatest possible rigour in our research methods, enabling us to certify family trees and locate heirs. This value carries over into our monitoring of estate settlements and our communication with heirs. The same rigour applies to ethics. Our collaborators follow clear ethical standards, allowing them to carry out their work with passion, integrity and pride.

Tenacity

Searching for heirs is sometimes frustrating, often time-consuming, and rarely easy. Our genealogists must show tenacity in their research, constantly pushing search possibilities to the limit. Our tenacity ensures that we leave nothing to chance, complementing our rigour perfectly.

Open-mindedness

Research is rarely performed the same way twice, and the possibilities for success in a mandate change over time. We require our researchers to work with an open mind, envisaging and exploring all possible avenues. In this way, our employees are constantly developing and updating new methods and resources and making them available to the entire team. We make the maximum use of this value—with rigour and tenacity.

Support

Our work may require us to collaborate with heirs over a number of years. For those unfamiliar with the field, estate settlement can be complex. Our team makes every effort to demystify the steps in the process for heirs, to the best of our knowledge and experience, while ensuring that they consult legal professionals when needed. Our support enables heirs to follow and understand the ins and outs of estate settlement.

Our sight
on the international

Searches may extend well beyond Canada and the US: we regularly work in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia and elsewhere across the globe.

Canada

Canada is our home territory. Our team are experts here and know how to trawl through genealogical and legal resources efficiently.

United States

In the USA, a country that is culturally and geographically close to Canada, our team can help you track down heirs, and provide you with broader assistance for all your needs.

Western Europe

Migration to and from Canada has been massive over the centuries and is still today. With the experience we acquired in nearly 10 years of activity in France, our team can assist you in your search for heirs and settlement.

Eastern Europe

Genealogical research in countries such as Armenia, Ukraine and Hungary is much less straightforward than in other places. Many documents have been destroyed during conflicts. Our team relies on the help of a network of correspondents and resources in each country.

Australia

Despite the geographical distance, our firm works regularly in this territory, where we enjoy a very high success rate.

Rest of the world

Don’t hesitate to explain your needs to us. We will let you know with transparency whether research by our team is feasible or not.

Holder of a D.U.T in Business and Administration Management obtained in Bourges (France) in 1988, I have been working in the field of heirs research and location in North America, but more broadly internationally for over 30 years …

After working in a Parisian study for several years, I have created my own heirs research study in 1999 in Quebec. Over the years I have extended my heirs research warrants seeking landowners (search for a seller in the title of correction frame for instance), liquidators, legatees, recipients of life insurance…

I am fortunate to work in an exciting environment that also allows me, in addition to determine the legitimacy of heirs in an estate, to bring together people who have lost sight of each other, sometimes for decades.

I joined the enterprise in early 2019, following a short experience in international business development and marketing with a Quebec-based SME.

Previously, during my academic path, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Laval University (2016), and then a Master’s degree at Hautes Études Internationales with a concentration in International Relations (2018).

My interests in research and human History are fulfilled in this little-known profession that very often combines archival research with investigation and human contact. In addition, my passion for entrepreneurship and business management is strongly stimulated by participating in the growth of the firm, which is increasingly a leading name in the field of estate settlement in Quebec and internationally.

Outside of the professional and academic realm, I have also been a sprint kayaker for nearly 15 years, participating in the Junior World Championships in Germany in 2011 and the Canada Games in 2013.
